User Story

[yoo-zer stawr-ee]

Definition of User Story

A Story whose value is for the User of the software; popularized by eXtreme Programming (XP).

Examples

A Story is an extension of the User Story, which is a concept introduced in eXtreme Programming (XP) to represent work that provides value to users. Since not all work items the Scrum Team does provide value to users, I extend the concept to represent work that provides value to some stakeholder, not only the user.
