Definition of Planning
A session with the whole Scrum Team (including the Team Captain) to decide which Stories should be “Done” next.
Examples
During Planning, the Product Owner decided what Stories would be moved to the Front Burner to be done that Sprint.
The team encountered an opportunity that would help achieve the sprint goal but, the story supporting that goal was not planned in the sprint. The team held a short planning session with the Product Owner to adjust the sprint content and achieve the goal.
The team encountered an impediment. The team met with the Product Owner and held a short planning session to mitigate the impediment and negotiate a way to achieve the sprint goal.
