Product Vision

[prod-uh kt vizh-uh n]

Definition of Product Vision

The Product Vision expresses how the product will support the Organization and/or Stakeholders. (compare to Product Goal)

Examples

Often, before a project formally begins, the project is given a Charter and there is a Visioning phase, when the Business Owner, Product Owner, and the Stakeholders produce a Product Vision and a Product Roadmap.

The Stakeholders must be available during the Visioning phase in order to help provide the ‘shape’ of the Product – to help produce the Product Vision, the Product Roadmap, and the initial Backlog.
