Delivery Forecast

[dih-liv-uh-ree fohr-kast]

Definition of Delivery Forecast

The Delivery Forecast predicts Scope, Delivery Dates, and Costs, and is ‘owned’ by the Product Champion. It should be based on Data, not Hope. It is important to note that the Team saying they will deliver on time is not Data, and telling the Team what it will deliver, and when, is not Data.

Examples

Each Product should have its own Delivery Forecast along with an associated Delivery Manager.

A good Delivery Forecast is one that the Scrum Team understands the expected scope, and that the Scrum Team is not overly influenced by the predictions.
